An intro comment, I think this blog is going to be a series of observations, thoughts and ideas about a guy who after 35 years has left his employment.
First thing is that it hasn't happened yet but will shortly, it doesn't feel anything special, people keep asking what are your plans, how does feel to know you won't be here next month?
My plans don't extend much beyond this blog and the long list of neglected things around the house and a bit of golf.
Some travel within 12 months then probably a resetting of goals.
People say your retiring, well I don't see it that way, I 'm just moving on. I am only in my late 50's but I saved well and have a good superannuation scheme so I can go now comfortably not well off but enough to get by and there is always the option of some type of work to supplement my income.
I think things will start to feel different from tomorrow as i start the clean out and handover process.
So thats the intro, lets see where it goes.
